The American International School of Budapest (AISB) seeks to appoint a Middle School Paraprofessional with a starting date of August, 2026.

Reports To: Assigned Teacher, Middle School Principal and Director (as needed), Business Office (Legal, Contract, Medical)
Position Overview:
The primary role of a Paraprofessional is to provide educational support to individuals and/or small groups of students within assigned classes. The Paraprofessional collaborates with teachers to facilitate the development of the assigned student in the cognitive, affective, ethical, emotional, and physical domains of his/her growth for both onsite and offsite learning.
The position is full-time and requires the Paraprofessional to be on campus from 08:00 a.m. - 04:00 p.m. each working day.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implements school policies and procedures to support AISB’s Mission, Vision, and Values.
- Assist student(s), individually or in small groups to attain learning objectives.
- Assist teaching staff in the instruction, direct supervision, and behavioral management (in the classroom and other areas as required) of an individual student; or at times with a small group of students.
- Assist student(s), when working individually or in small groups, by providing
- specific/targeted, action-oriented, and focused feedback to help guide their learning.
- Provide student supervision, including during classes, transitions, and breaks.
- Positively manage student behavior in alignment with AISB’s Behavior
Expectations:
- Meet with teachers to co-plan and implement a program of instruction with purposeful activities that require student(s) to engage in thinking and the development of understanding as part of their ongoing experience in the school.
- Support in the delivery of instruction for assigned student(s).
- Communicate measurable learning objectives and guide assigned students toward mastery of goals.
- Assess curricular goals across subject areas and modify learning experiences in line with the assigned student's academic profile.
- Ensure accommodations and modifications are consistently implemented across subjects and support communication among teachers.
- Utilize instructional techniques and appropriate instructional material.
- Provide a combination of direct instruction, real-time support in breaking down tasks, re-explaining concepts, and reinforcing learning strategies.
- Understand the goals and objectives outlined in the assigned student’s Learning Support Plan (LSP), Behavior Support Plan (BSP), or Targeted Intervention Plan (TIP).
- Share knowledge, skills, and pedagogical practices with teachers and assistant teachers as needed.
- For the student receiving support, maintain accurate and complete records of progress, including but not limited to: writing samples, reading logs, inventories, goal setting, report writing, portfolios, and conferences.
- Attend regular Student Support Team meetings to determine future actions and support.
- Performs additional duties effectively (during and outside the regular school day) as required by the school.
- Participates in faculty meetings and parent meetings as required.

Degrees and Experience
- Degree in Education
- Experience working as a Paraprofessional / 1:1 Aide, preferably with Middle School students (Grades 6-8)
- Proficient in oral and written English
- Technology literate in Web Applications, Google Applications, and other current trends in the field of technology
